What wardrobe item do you wear 80% of the time?

I was cleaning out my closets this past weekend and hate to admit that I only wore some of the items a few times. I simply fell out of love with them after purchasing. It’s been said that most women only wear 20% of their wardrobe 80% of the time. So instead of focusing on the items I’m donating and no longer interested in, I thought I’d change my thinking and focus on why I love a few of the staples in my wardrobe.

    Ruby Ribbon Ponte Jacket
I must admit that this jacket may hit the 90% of the time wear mark for me as it’s honestly the item in my closet that I wear more than anything else. I love the cut with the little suggestion of a peplum waist. The fabric never wrinkles, and I can machine wash it, hang it to dry, and it looks brand new.

This jacket goes with everything: I can wear it with jeans for a more casual look, or with a skirt or over a sleeveless dress for a more professional look. It pairs great with a t-shirt, dressy blouse, or scarf. I have it in black, but it comes in a dark brown (mink) as well. It’s truly a must have for any wardrobe.

    Denim Leggings
I’ve never been a fan of leggings and never understood why so many women wear them – until I found these. I got them for free in my stylist kit and the minute I put them on, I was hooked. Everything I don’t like about leggings (they show too much, aren’t flattering, look too casual) is not an issue with these favorites. They are a little thicker than most leggings and have a lot more stretch in all the right places while the Intomi shaping smooths you out to offer a flattering fit.

The length on these is perfect (27”) and comes right to the ankle of my 5’5” frame. I wear them in the winter with a chunky sweater and a pair of boots and in the summer with a fun t-shirt and a pair of ballet flats. And like all the Ruby Ribbon clothing, just wash them on the delicate cycle and hang them to dry and they stay looking like new. If I could wear these every day, I would.

    Fit and Flare Dress
Everyone needs a little black dress in their wardrobe and I guess I’m no exception to that…I have three of them. But, there is only one that I wear whenever I need to look a little nicer and it’s the Ruby Ribbon Fit and Flare dress. One of the best dresses I’ve ever owned, it’s the perfect length (just above the knee) and the shape is flattering (not too fitted and not too loose).

It pairs with a denim jacket and flats for a fun look, or a statement necklace and some heels if I want to dress it up. The built-in shaping slip keeps my stomach in-check at every angle. I’ve only owned this dress for a couple of months, but I’ve already worn it more often than any other dress that I own. It’s a keeper.

    Belt and Buckle Set
I used to have a basket in my closet that was full of belts. I owned all shapes and sizes and never seemed to be able to match them up to make a great outfit. I absolutely love these Ruby Ribbon Belt and Buckle Sets. Since I got them, I probably wear them more than any other belt I own. Each set comes with 3 different shades of buckle and the best is adjustable so you can loosen it when you wear it low and tighten it when you wear it high.

It pulls together a loose-fitting dress and complements a few skirts that have boring, plain waistbands. They add an elegant, finished look to a pair of leggings as well. I’ve narrowed my belt collection from about ten down to five, and two of them are my Ruby Ribbon belt and buckle sets.

If you are looking to replace the 80% of your clothes that you just don’t wear or you are curious about Ruby Ribbon but not yet ready to ditch your bra, these are great pieces to try to get to know the company and the quality of the clothing they produce.
